At Motomeccanica, quality is a core value that guides every stage of production: from design to material selection, from production checks to final testing.

Our quality system complies with the ISO 9001 standard and has been RINA certified since 1999, guaranteeing structured, traceable and constantly monitored processes.

On request, we supply gearboxes that comply with API 677 standards and ATEX certified, ideal for applications in the oil&gas sector, where the highest standards of safety, precision and reliability are required.

In the nuclear sector, we operate in compliance with regulation CRT 60.C.011.01, ensuring that our processes and products comply with the specific requirements of this highly regulated industry.

Our approach

To ensure the highest quality:

  • All raw materials and components used in our gearboxes are purchased exclusively from qualified suppliers and subjected to thorough checks.
  • Critical components are tested using non-destructive testing to rule out any internal defects that could compromise the reliability of the product.
  • Production checks are carried out by highly qualified personnel using dedicated tools and procedures.
  • All gearboxes and related accessories are tested under no load on a test bench: the test results are recorded on the identification tag of each individual unit.
  • The complete documentation relating to standard internal checks is kept in our archives.

Quality of materials

The care and attention we devote to every stage of the process guarantees reliable, safe and durable gearboxes, even for applications in critical environments and those subject to high mechanical stress.

The gearboxes are made with 17NiCrMo6-4 case-hardened steel gears to ensure high wear resistance and long operating life. The bearings used are from leading brands, selected to ensure maximum reliability even under high loads.

Depending on construction requirements, the gearbox housing can be supplied in EN-GJL-250 cast iron, EN-GJS-400-15 spheroidal cast iron or, for special applications, in S275JR electro-welded steel.
